This is the intersection of Michigan Avenue (US-12) and Livernois in Detroit looking westward on Michigan Avenue.
The eastbound PCC has just picked up passengers at the Livernois stop (as evidenced by the railing just to the left of the PCC) and is heading for downtown Detroit.
On the right is the marquee for the Senate Theatre, and the theatre and same marquee are still there today. This photo appears to be from the early 1950s.
