What if every drive-in restaurant was wired for trolley coach curb service like this one in Dayton at the Forest Park loop, serving a fantrip lunch in May 1960? Bill Volkmer was there. This photo was taken at the North Main Street loop the end of the line of Route 7, Forest Park. The drive-in shown is the old Parkmoor restaurant that was demolished in the early 1970s. Richard writes: I'm pretty good at the details, as my friends and I hung out at Parkmoor from 1964 until it closed. The dirt you see in the background is the end of demolition of Frankie's Forest Park amusement park, and the beginning of construction of Forest Park Plaza shopping center. I remember the amusement park closed in 1957 or 1958, and sat for a couple of years before demolition. I remember seeing the old 200 series trolleys when I was riding the bus in my sophomore year of high school, and that was 1962 to 1963.
