Ex-Baltimore Traction 554 is one of the oldest streetcars in regular operation in America, having been built in 1896 by the Brownell company of St Louis, seen here on August 11 2002. It is owned by the Baltimore Streetcar Museum and is also one of only 7 Brownell-built cars in existence. It is owned by the Baltimore Streetcar Museum. This car was never fitted with air brakes the motorman slows the car using the gooseneck hand brake handle in his right hand.
