This was the facility where most of the cars were built, and in later years burned. The building with the tower was a Montgomery Wards store and warehouse.
Everything in this picture of both Snelling Station and Montgomery Wards is now gone, however the Metropolitan Transit Commission still has a bus garage on this property. The I-94 expressway now runs across the bottom of this picture along the property line.
