A sightseeing observation car - locally known as Golden Chariots for the gilded metalwork - running east on St Catherine St, Montreal's major downtown shopping and entertainment street. The car is just passing the Ogilvy Department Store and approaching Mountain Street. Windshields were added to the observation cars in 1954 cutting down somewhat on the pleasant breeze in the front seats. In case of rain, patrons were given rain checks and the car headed for the nearest carhouse for shelter.
