Urbana
Kankakee & Urbana Traction Co.
Kankakee & Urbana Traction Company's 1922 St. Louis Car Company built demonstration double-truck interurban #242 that was purchased in 1924 at an unknwon location - it was used between 1924 and 1926 in an unsuccessful attempt to revive the K&UT's 27-mile long passenger service from Urbana north through Thomasboro, Rantoul and Ludlow to Paxton.  After passenger service was terminated on March 26, 1926, the streetcar was sold to the Third Avenue Railway and renumbered 1702; in 1934 the streetcar was rebuilt with new platforms, new ends and renumbered 1250, operating until 1948 before being scrapped.
