Chicago Transit Authority
#53 was one of four three-car articulated trainsets built in 1947 by St.
Louis and Pullman-Standard for Chicago Rapid Transit. Originally
in the 5000-series (#53 was #5003), these cars served for most of their
lives on the Skokie Swift line. This set is now preserved at the
Monticello & Sangamon Valley, a small museum in Monticello, Illinois.
