Lew Shapiro's Indiana
Indianapolis
According to Harv Hylton:
"This pix was taken between1934 and 1948 at the W.Washington St. Shops, at the storage tracks just west of the sheds. The cars are all in the original blue and yellow paint. The red/cream with front triangle was introduced about 1948.

"The two left-most cars are 1934 models (#126-190); the other 4 are 1932 (#101-125).

"How do you tell the difference? All were built by Brill in Philly.

"The '34's have protruding front marker lights and large head signs, with a separate route number sign box at  the upper right corner. Also, the doors were extended below the treadle on the outside of the car.

"The '32's, which were always on the Illinois/Shelby line (which I rode to high school every day) had small green marker lens on the front header at either side of a smaller head sign box.  No route sign box. The doors closed at the bottom inside on the treadle."
