This was the fourth car built by Brill for the Strang Gas Electric Car Company, of Overland Park KS.

Strang designed the cars for use on his line from Kansas City to Olathe, which was not electrified -- in order to save money.

Although built in 1908, it was an all-steel car, 56 feet long, and bore the name "Irene," after one of Strang's nieces. The big car wasn't very reliable, and the interurban electrified about 1908, and the "Irene" was put up for sale. It was bought by the "Dan Patch" lines, in Minnesota, becoming their 2 in 1910.

In 1915 it was rebuilt to 15, apparently with GE electrical and mechanical gear, and passed to the Minneapolis Northfield and Southern in 1918, and ran until 1932.
