PCC interurban 1616 has just completed a southbound PM tripper from Pittsburgh to Riverview Loop. The loop doubles as a wye, about midway on the 35 mile Charleroi interurban.

PCC interurban 1616 has just completed a southbound PM tripper from Pittsburgh to Riverview Loop. The loop doubles as a wye, about midway on the 35 mile Charleroi interurban. The car is in the process of backing (note the trolley pole is already past the directional overhead frog) onto the loop/wye, and will return to South Hills Car House. To our left is the turnout which allows the car to return north if the single track is clear. The Donora local car turns here using this leg of the wye to continue south to Black Diamond Jct where it left the Charleroi Main to run into Donora proper. This required double-end cars; the freight wye near the end of the line was intact but out of use after 1941.
