Passing siding at Bigler and Carlisle, with Broad St. on the left and Pollock St. at the other end of the siding on Route 2. Note the single tongue track switch used by Philadelphia Rapid Transit and its successor Philadelphia Transportation Co. for turnout installations. Single-tongue switches became passé in the 21st century in some cities, notably New Orleans, as European style double tongue trolley switches were laid in new trackage installations.
