Freight motor 100 couples up to wrecked Jewett car 16 with a drawbar, in the aftermath of the August 3 1917 wreck in North Branford. Westbound car 16, with a tired motorman looking into the setting sun put his head down on his controller for a moment and overran his meeting point, colliding with eastbound car 3.
